Mellon-funded planning meeting for the Mukurtu Shared platform
Dates: March 14, 2016
These planning meetings bring together individuals from Native and non-Native institutions who are interested in :
- Sharing content and metadata,
- Promoting collaborative curation, and
- Connecting communities and collections across and between institutions to make them more accessible and culturally relevant for multiple stakeholders (archivists, librarians, teachers, school children, etc.).
The first meeting focused on setting high-level priorities for leveraging the existing Mukurtu CMS platform and workflows to define Mukurtu Shared as a platform for facilitating the return and sharing of Native collections online ethically. The second meeting will test scenarios for workflows, vetting procedures and define core technical needs of the platform.
